About...
The Texas Bar-B-Q Tour starts with a train ride on the TRE (Trinity Railway Express) to the T&P Train Station in downtown Fort Worth. There you board a clean air conditioned bus. The tour stops at three of the top six award winning Bar-B-Q restaurants in Fort Worth/Dallas, rated by D Magazine story by Daniel Vaughn. At each restaurant you will savor their signature Bar-B-Q. If the pitmaster can break away from the fire, he will join us for a Q&A. It is fascinating to hear about their choices of wood, meats and cooking temperatures. As we drive through the city, you will hear the history of Fort Worth/Dallas. We will point out restaurants, landmarks and places of interest. You will see the Water Gardens, Sundance Square, The Historic Stockyards and many more sites. Photo opportunities will be available at the Fort Worth Water Gardens, Stockyards, Cowboys Stadium and the Ballpark in Arlington. If you leave hungry it's your own fault...
What's included in the tour...
- The best samplings of ribs, smoked brisket, sausage, smoked turkey and sides!
- A train ride on the Trinity Railway Express!
- A guided tour through Fort Worth and the historical Stockyards!
- FUN!
Getting to the tour is easy but depends on where you are...
If you are staying near DFW Airport... Most hotels will provide shuttle service to Center Port Station or Terminal D at the airport. If you can get straight to Center Port, great! if not, once you arrive at Terminal D take the free yellow airport bus to "South Remote". Once you arrive at South Remote hop off and look to your left. You will see a clear sign marking the lane for the bus to Center Port. Catch the next ride and you will see your tour guide at the next stop. Be sure to arrive by 11:00 a.m. . You won't want to miss this!
If you are staying in Dallas... You will need to ride the TRE train 2921 leaving Dallas Uniņn Station at 10:50 or Victory Station at American Airlines Center at 10:54. Both will arrive at the Center Port Station at 11:18. Be sure to ride in the last car. That is where the rest of the tour will meet you.
If you are staying in Downtown Fort Worth... No need for you to trek back to Center Port. Feel free to meet us at the T&P Station. We will be loading the bus on the South side of the station at 11:50. The Molly Trolley offers free trolley service all around Fort Worth and can be used to catch a ride to the T&P. The Tour bus will make its final stop at Center Port Station. You will be able to catch the train and make it back to T&P by 4:20.
If you have your own car... feel free to meet us at Center Port at 11:00 a.m. if you would like to ride the train or T&P at 11:50 a.m. if that's closer. The addresses are below:
